Toronto Street Violence - Result of Liberalism

Stepping away from world arena for a second - there is a note that I feel important to make about my home and native land Canada's largest city - Toronto. We had been, as of recently, plagued by gang violence - mostly by youth gangs of mostly African-American decent. Just this night 5 police officers patrolling the gang-infested area were SHOT at!, so much for Canadian stereotype of peaceful citizens. If you check our local news (http://www.cp24.com) - we have almost daily fatal drive-by shootings - whereby the gangs are armed with automatic weapons and completely disregard any moralities or laws. The reason why I bring this is up - is to once again demonstrate the failures of liberal state that is Canada, although the Liberal government is already in minority in our nation - we are still dealing with the legacy of these people being in power for over a decade.
It is next to impossible for average Torontonian to get a handgun, and carrying Mace or ANY kind of self defense weapon is a CRIMINAL OFFENSE! When I tried to order a bullet-proof vest of Ebay - it was confiscated by Customs Canada, and I was warned that it's a Felony to own one!. So when you are attacked by a gang of juvenile delinquents on the streets of our city - you are advised by Toronto Police to give them whatever they want ... and then (I assume) get on your knees and beg for them not to hurt you; and during home invasion - you better not be at your own home. However, I do not blame Toronto Police for this - their hands are tied - God Forbid they use racial profiling in suspect description (that is post-9/11 world we are talking about), they are forbidden from doing on-spot searches, and if a 7-foot tall repeated offender/ gang member happens to be under 18 - he would walk on any charge less of first-degree murder - while gangs roam our streets untouchable.
As a Torontonian today - I think I would feel much safer living in South Central Los Angeles.
