Scarborough - Toronto's Harlem

Gun violence erupted in Scarborough overnight, leaving three people hurt and prompting a police search for suspects. Two of the victims may be related to a single shooting near Kennedy Rd. and Lawrence Ave. East. One individual was struck in the face when shots rang out at a townhouse complex on Canlish Rd.Later, police found a man in a nearby bus shelter with a gunshot wound to the hand, but it’s unclear at this point if the two incidents are related. Part of Lawrence Ave. had to be temporarily closed to traffic as investigators looked for evidence. The victim who was struck in the face suffered what police called serious but non-life threatening injuries. Meanwhile, bullets also flew in the Kennedy Rd. and Eglinton Ave. area, injuring a man estimated to be 19 years old. He was taken to hospital by emergency crews at about midnight with at least two separate gun-inflicted wounds. His injuries were also considered non-life threatening. Police have yet to arrest suspects in either shooting, and they’re still trying to determine a connection between the first two victims.
