Islamofascists kill two, wound three Canadian soldiers in Afghan

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — A storm of gunfire and rocket-propelled grenades killed two Canadian soldiers and wounded three others in southern Afghanistan on Saturday, according to media reports.The ambush by Islamic scumbag insurgents happened around 3 p.m. in Kandahar province. Troops returned fire and called in air support, NATO’s international security force in Afghanistan said.The nationalities of the soldiers were not immediately released, but CNN reported Canadian military officials as saying the dead and wounded soldiers were Canadian.The Canadian military took over responsibility for Kandahar province from the Americans last winter. Nearly 2,500 Canadian troops are stationed on and off the main base at Kandahar Air Field.Last month, Canada embarked on its largest offensive against the insurgents, focusing on Muslim Taliban strongholds in Zhari and Panjwaii districts.Since the two-week operation, Canadian soldiers have been hit by a wave of ambushes, Islamic, 72-virgin seeking suicide bombers and improvised explosive devices.With the latest deaths, 42 Canadian soldiers and one diplomat have been killed since the military arrived in Afghanistan in 2002. Most of the deaths have come this year as violence has spiked in the country, especially in south.In an incident Friday, a NATO soldier shot dead an Islamic Afghan local approaching an area cordoned off after a suicide bombing.According to NATO, troops issued warnings in English and Pashto, but the man continued coming nearer. Suspecting another suicide attack, they killed the scumbag.An investigation into the shooting is underway.
