"We went on tour everywhere else, but they stopped us from bringing them into Canada," he said to the 7,000 fans, inspiring a round of boos.The artist himself almost never made it into the country after concerned politicians tried to halt his entrance. Aside from that one comment, however, he put aside thoughts of his detractors and focused on his business - entertainment. But with a heavy police presence, it was hard to brush aside thoughts of the gun violence that seem to follow 50’s career. Concert organizers beefed up security with uniformed and plainclothes officers in attendance, but the evening proceeded smoothly.
